O-Getsu-Ryu

Kamiya, Mihoko
Born in Tokyo on January 25, 1967. Graduated from Dept. of Fine Arts, Nihon
University majoring in ancient and medieval music. Thesis: Music of “Tale
of Genji”. As a child, she learned dancing and singing from her
grandmother. She absorbed very quickly all forms of Tsurugi-mai as if the
revelation of heaven. Furthermore, she has extensively being involved in
“Yamatian Voice” musical activities, the voice distinctive to Tsurugi-mai.
Her life work is to be an instructor at various culture classes on “Tale of
Genji”. She wrote several books on Genji Monogatari originally written by
Lady Murasaki Shikibu in the 11th century.




Matsuki, Fumio
Born in Yamaguchi Prefecture on August 26, 1964. Fumio studied extensively
Kabuki techniques leading Kabuki players. Beside stages for O-Getsu-ryu, he
has appeared in a number of other performances and also has done Tsurugi-mai
composition, choreography and staging production. He plays in movie “The
Last Samurai” to be released in 2004. Tsurugi experience for ２０years.

Ishizuna, Hiroshi
Born in Tochigi Prefecture on July 23, 1968. He is responsible for the
production of “Tsurugi” and other O-Getsu stage props such as bell sand
poles. Tsurugi experience for 1６years.

Kamiya, Masashi
Born in Tokyo on June 1, 1971. He is Mihoko’s younger brother. He is
responsible for the stage production and operation. Tsurugi experience for
1３years.
